Pixie Dust vs. Sands.
So I bought the OPI Sand polishes as soon as they came out. I got the blue and purple and was lucky enough to find them on sale for $6 each. I swatched them immediately and thought they were pretty neat. I even put a top coat on them to see what they would look like and enjoyed them that way too.
I later preordered 2 of the Pixie Dust polishes at $8 each. Knowing these were close to the Sands, I ordered the red and gray. I immediately regretted the gray and thought I should have gotten the black but have since appreciated my gut decision.
Below you'll find a split imagine with one of the Pixies and one of the Sands. The top is two coats of each and the bottom is two coats of a top coat over two coats of each.
I have been going back and forth but I think my final decision is that I like the Pixies a tad better. They are not quite as gritty and contain no larger glitter like the Sands. However, once a topcoat is applied, the Sands are more glittery in the sunlight than the Pixies but the Pixies only need two coats of a top coat while the Sands really need three. Overall I say that these may be similar but definitely the same. If you can, own both, you'll appreciate them differently for sure.

Well Nails - The North Pole Is A Real Place
A few weeks ago I posted a link to head everyone over to Well Nails to get this new Indie company to 100 likes. You all responded above and beyond and she was over 150 by the night. With this, Well Nails had a giveaway and by luck I won. I was so excited. I totally support other Indies and wouldn't pass up an opportunity to showcase a great polish.
The North Pole Is A Real Place seems to be one of the most sought after polishes by Well Nails. Not only is it a nice frosty white with square and hex glitters, but in glows in the dark too; and a nice aqua glow at that!
It's so easy to put a polish that glows over white but I wanted to try something a little different. I used two coats of The North Pole Is A Real Place over two coats of Orly's Blue Collar. This polish can go over just about anything to change its look. Over this blue, it's very wintery. Over a red or pink, it could be perfect for Valentine's Day. My pinky is Color Club's Gift Of Sparkle that I snatched up at the Sally's After Christmas sale.
Here's the same polish in the dark. See that Aqua glow? So pretty.
Well Nails has a few more collections out which you can see on her Facebook page here: https://www.facebook.com/WellNailsVarnish
Check them out!

12 Days of Christmas Nail Art Challenge - Day 4 - Christmas Lights
Day 4 and I'm still going! Whoot :). Day 4 is Christmas lights. I didn't do the swirly green string with lights (as much as I wanted to) because I had seen it so much. I instead, wanted to try something a little different. I painted the nail with 2 coats of Zoya Snow White. I placed some Nail Art Society sequins for the ring accent finger. On the rest of the fingers, I used some silver striping tape from the same company and tipped the top half with Julep Melissa, however, it doesn't show in the photos. Then I placed a dot of each color on the nail with a dotting tool and drug out the end to a point.

I added a blinker to my thumb :P. Finally, I drew a line of silver on all the bottoms of the lights and topped it all with Seche Vite.
Overall, I was actually happy with these and how they turned out. Are you doing any Christmas nails? These ladies are, check them out!

12 Days of Christmas Nail Art Challenge - Day 3 - A Christmas Movie
So I'm a day late on this one but here is my day 3 nail art for a Christmas movie. I choose The Nightmare Before Christmas and did a play off Jack, Sally, Oogie Boogie, and the well known cover shot of Jack on the swirly mountain.

12 Days of Christmas Nail Art Challenge - Day 2 - Snowflakes
I'm actually keeping up with this so far! Day 2 of the 12 Days of Christmas Nail Art Challenge is snowflakes. I'm horrible at nail art which is another reason I took this challenge. I'm hoping I get better as I go. Just in case you missed the first post or forgot the order, here's the challenge.

I combined snowflakes and dots for this mani.
I used my brand new Lynnderella I received in the mail today: Thank blue, too.
Isn't it lovely? Here's a close up.
I topped it all off with a thin coat of holo and Seche Vite.
And once again, here's a list of all the lovely ladies/bloggers and their nails!
